My First Set Induction

I have finished my set induction for the micro teaching yesterday. I was very happy because I think that I have done a splendid job and I did all what I have planned for my set induction. Even though it is not fully successful, but at least I have managed to control 90 percent my feeling in front of my students. I t was virtually a difficult task because from now on, I have practice how to speak and stand in front of my beloved students properly. I was quite nervous because I saw Mr Harold, who was ready to evaluate me but that feeling vanish when I started to be the real teacher in front of my students. Here, I should act and behave appropriately because I ought not to be seen by my students that I was nervous in front of the class.

On the other hand, after I finish my set induction, Mr Harold Pong did not give any comment on me. He did praise one of my friends; Winnie because she was able to attract students’ attention by showing them a cartoon. For me, I also thought that she deserved the praised by Mr Harold because as a student, I also found that it was attractive. As for my set induction he did not say anything because maybe I was not doing too good and too bad. I thought that I should bring the element of fun into our classroom because I thought that I was too straight in the class, without funs and jokes. Thus, I would be able to attract students’ attention and at the same time students will concentrate and focus more on what I want to deliver to them.

Hopefully, I could improve my teaching during my pre-reading and while reading. I have prepared several worksheets for my students. Also, I hope to get good responses from my students as well Mr Harold through my teaching soon.

  1. For me, set induction of a lesson determines the whole lesson of the class. And good for you Fadzwan because your confidence in your set induction. I totally agree with Fadzwan that class control is very important. In his opinion, he said that he had been able to control the class at 90% rate. For me, it is an accomplishment because we are still under training. Moreover, the students for our simulated teaching are our own classmates. Well, TESL students are full with enthusiasm. It is hard to control the class. Well that is my own opinion. Our tutor, Mr Harold always gives us insights on how to make our lesson better after each session. It is a good way for us to reflect on how to improve on our teaching skills. Thank you Mr Harold and thank you Fadzwan for you to share your experience on simulate teaching.

  2. since we are believe in democracy, let me give my sincere comments to your first microteaching last week..i will make them into note form, hence, it would be easier for you to comprehend

1: You always come out with good material, but you not making that as your strength to deliver your presentation convincingly.

    2. When you were presenting, i saw few of your students talked to each other and not giving their full attention to your lesson. Why? Let's see my next comments

    3. There are three things that every teachers should have once they enter the class: autonomy, personality and good material( preparation ).Since, you teaching materials were good enough, you must focus on another two factors above. Autonomy, is very important..we are not talking about the maturity here, but as the teacherm you must show your autonomy in the classroom...that's is why discpline teachers are alwats be famous teacher in the school, right.

I hope you read this comment. I'm glad to see you on the next microteaching with new and fresh " Sir Fadzwan". SEE you soon.

  3. yeah. Same goes to you for your while reading. You should act like a teacher and behave properly in the class. I could not believe that you jumped in the class. it was so not like you. As a teacher you should not act like that because all of your students saw you as an "angel". So, I hope you will change your childish attitude and become a good teacher in the future.
